Man, 18, charged with assaulting a police officer in Broadfield, Crawley

A woman police officer suffered a suspected cheek fracture after being called to a report of two people breaking into a car in Bluebell Close, Broadfield, Crawley.
Officers attended on Friday (11 July) at 9.50pm. One suspect was arrested nearby but the other fled. He is still being sought.
The arrested man, Ryan David Bowler, 18, of Edrich Road, Broadfield, Crawley, has been charged with obstructing police, assaulting a police officer and threatening or abusive behaviour.
It is alleged the 42-year-old officer who was hurt was head-butted.
Mr Bowler has been bailed to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court on 30 July.
